Now for sale online at Dolphin Galleries! Levitation. Veiled and draped in a loose robe, this levitating female form inspires a magical fascination. As she surrenders to the higher elements of air and light, we are reminded of Remedios in ‘One Hundred Years of Solitude’ who rises into the upper atmosphere amidst freshly laundered sheets. While the Statue of Liberty holds a lamp aloft, Stuart’s ‘Levitation’ depicts a female form in the very act of becoming light.

The Artist
Todd Stuart
Todd Stuart is an Australian contemporary sculptor who works in three materials that ask for three different crafts: stainless steel polished to a mirror, silicon bronze finished in patina, and carved stone. The work runs from pieces that sit on a table to pieces taller than a doorway, and almost all of it is signed and made in small limited editions.
