Now for sale online at Dolphin Galleries! Remains of a Beautiful World. When following the soft spiralling lines of ‘Remains of a Beautiful World’ one seems to arrive at a disjuncture at the very centre of its meaning, where something of significance appears to have been lost or worn away with the passage of time. Was this where two organisms sharing the same shell came together? In Kafka’s unfinished short story The Burrow, the central chamber of the burrow exerts a strange gravitational pull on the burrowing creature. Likewise we are drawn to the mystery at the centre of the spiral.

The Artist
Todd Stuart
Todd Stuart is an Australian contemporary sculptor who works in three materials that ask for three different crafts: stainless steel polished to a mirror, silicon bronze finished in patina, and carved stone. The work runs from pieces that sit on a table to pieces taller than a doorway, and almost all of it is signed and made in small limited editions.
