Between these pages, worlds await.

First Book celebrates the transformative power of reading. A dark bronze figure stands at the base, arms raised to hold an enormous open book—warm brown cover, white pages spread wide like wings. Above, another figure perches on those open pages, holding a single page aloft in triumph, as if they've just discovered the secret to flight.

This sculpture captures the magic of that first encounter with reading—when marks on paper suddenly become doorways to infinite worlds. The scale is intentionally exaggerated: the book is massive because that's how it feels when you're young and words are still new miracles.

Tolla Inbar's composition creates a visual metaphor for how knowledge lifts us. The figure at the base is the foundation—a parent, a teacher, a library—while the figure above represents every reader who has climbed into a book and emerged transformed.
