Given that the point (the simplest measure of space), the straight line (which has one dimension), the plane (which has two dimensions), and geometric mass (which has three dimensions) all exist in theory alone, it would follow that, entering the fourth dimension, we should find ourselves likewise within a realm of thought. Stuart’s exploration references higher concepts of geometry, while also alluding to an elegant journey into what could be termed ‘intuitive space’.

Todd Stuart is an Australian contemporary sculptor who works in three materials that ask for three different crafts: stainless steel polished to a mirror, silicon bronze finished in patina, and carved stone. The work runs from pieces that sit on a table to pieces taller than a doorway, and almost all of it is signed and made in small limited editions.
